Because the resolution of our gallery images is much smaller than their actual size, it's hard to do justice to them.  So on this page we've taken a single thumbnail from each of the 12 galleries to give you a better idea - just click on the image for a much better idea of what our canvas paintings really look like.  Be patient as the images are quite large and may take some time to load.

Gallery #1 - European Capital Cities
London - Catalogue No. 463

A beautiful autumn sunset over the River Thames.  Taken from Waterloo Bridge you can see the 'London Eye' on the left and further in the distance the sun setting against the Houses of Parliament and 'Big Ben'.
Gallery #2 - Water
Venice - Catalogue No. 510

View of the 'Palazzo Ducale' (Doge's Palace) backed by the Campanile  (Belltower) from the 'Canale della Giudecca'.  Arguably, nothing in medieval Europe can compare with the Palazzo Ducale, a stunningly impressive and beautiful complex of courtyards and corridors, council halls and hidden chambers.  From a gondola on the canal, the silhouette of these buildings against a cloudless sky is quite striking.

Gallery #3 - Scenic views
Teba, Spain - Catalogue No. 493  (HDR image)

Teba lies about 25 miles west of Antequera just to the south of the road to Jerez de la Frontera in the Andalucia region of Spain.  The ruins of the castle fortifications high above the town date back to Roman times when Teba was considered an important settlement.
In the 8th century the invading Moors reinforced the Roman site with a walled interior precinct, or bailey.  The views in all directions from the ruined castle walls are breathtaking.  For more information on Teba and to learn about its link with Sir James Douglas of Scotland refer to http://www.andalucia.com/province/malaga/teba/home.htm .
Gallery #4 - English towns, villages and countryside
Hampshire Villages - Catalogue No. 227

The tiny village of Vernham Dean sits close to the Wiltshire border, surrounded by woods and gentle hills. At the centre of this pretty corner of rural Hampshire is The George Inn, a charming thatched hostelry that dates back to the 16th century.  This is your archetypal English village pub!

Gallery #5 - Asia
Vietnam, Ha Long Bay - Catalogue No. 273

Ha Long bay lies in the northeastern part of Vietnam and is 165 Km from Hanoi. Also called the 'Bay of the Descending Dragon', it is considered by many proud Vietnamese as the world's Eighth wonder. One of its main attractions  is the bay's calm water and the thousands of limestone mountains dotting the seascape. The Bay's water is clear during the spring and early summer. Some of the islands/moutains are quite large and there are small alcoves with sandy beaches where swimming is possible.

Gallery #6 - Impressive Buildings
Jaén, Spain - Catalogue No. 422

The 'Assumption of the Virgin Cathedral' is a Renaissance cathedral located in Santa María Square in Jaén, Spain, opposite the Town Hall and the Episcopal Palace. Construction of the cathedral began in 1249 on the ruins of an ancient mosque. It was damaged and rebuilt on numerous occasions during the following two centuries until the sixteenth century, when several architects - Andrés de Vandelvira being the most important one - built the biggest part of the Cathedral.  It was consecrated in 1724. It is an impressive building particularly when viewed from the neighbouring Santa Catalina hill.

Gallery #7 - All quiet on the streets
Angoulême, France - Catalogue No. 454 (HDR image)

Angoulême is a small town of about 45,000 lying in the Poitou-Charentes region of France some 85 miles north-east of Bordeaux.   Its main monument is the cathedral dedicated to Saint Peter and built in a Byzantine-Romanesque style. It dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries.   Wandering through the quiet, narrow cobbled streets of the old part of the town is, arguably, the best way for a visitor to appreciate the charm and ambience of historic Angoulême.
Gallery #8 - Home Sweet Home
Chabanais, France - Catalogue No. 522

Chabanais is a small town lying on the River Vienne between Limoges and Angoulême.   Tucked away in a forest not far from the town is the famous 'Chateau de Rochebrune',  the seat of the Lords of Chabanais since the 11th and 12th centuries.   The house on the right borders the estate and is typical of a French farmhouse of the 19th century - rustic, rambling but quite charming.

Gallery #9 - People
Loule, Portugal - Catalogue No. 075

With a history that stretches back over 100 years, Loule Carnival is the most important event on the city's calendar and each year attracts thousands of visitors from across the Algarve. The carnival has religious origins but the modern day event is more concerned with ensuring that everybody has a great time during the three days of parades and partying. Among the many highlights of this colourful festival is the 'Battle of the Flowers' and the night-time parade that includes brightly-costumed dancers, decorated floats and papier-mache cartoon characters.  The ladies on the left were obviously enjoying themselves.

Gallery #10 - Featured City: Seville, Spain
Seville, Spain - Catalogue No. 313

Seville lies on the River Guadalquivir and is the capital of the Andalucia region of Spain.  It is a city steeped in history and resplendent with architectural gems.  Its most famous monument is the cathedral with its moorish belltower, known universally as 'La Giralda'. The area around the cathedral is a good place to start touring around the city and what better way to view the sights than from the comfort of a horse drawn carriage!

Gallery #11 - Spanish Panoramic Views
El Chorro, Spain - Catalogue No. 323

The turquoise lakes of the 'EL Chorro' region lie some 30 miles north west of Malaga.  The colour and tranquillity of these stretches of water are unsurpassed in the region.  Close to the lakes is the famous 'Garganta del Chorro', an immense 600 feet chasm that in places is only 30 feet wide, cut by the river through a limestone mountain.
