Pontevedra is a small town with a population of about 75,000
lying in the Galicia region of north-west Spain.
The old part of the town is delightful and typically Galician -
a network of cobbled alleys, graceful squares, arcades,
flower-filled balconies and excellent tapas bars.
Dotted amongst these features are a number of interesting old
buildings, including the 16th century 'Iglesia de Santa Maria la
Mayor' and the Gothic 'Ruinas de Santo Domingo'. |

Before / After
What strikes any visitor
about Pontevedra or indeed any small Spanish town is the quietness of
the streets during siesta time. The original photo here rather
contradicts that memory and so there was a real need for removing the
pedestrians ..... a truly atmospheric "photo-painting" is the
net result. |
